Hyderabad, April 4 (Maxim News): Former Congress leader Rapolu Ananda Bhaskar joined BJP in Delhi. Union Health Minister JP Nadda welcomed him with BJP shawl and appreciated him for joining the BJP. Ananda Bhskar also met with Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley.
Speaking to the media later, Ananda Bhaskar said he had to join the BJP after his 25-year stay in the Congress. “I had to join the BJP as there was no ideological policy and priority to State issues with local focus”, he reasoned. “After 15 days of brainstorming, I took the decision to join the BJP”, he said, adding that national integrity and Telangana self-respect were key issues that prompted him to switch loyalties to the saffron party. Rapolu said he would vigorously work for Telangana State development and welfare of handloom workers. The BJP government has promised to address the key issues, he added.
It may be mentioned here that Rapolu already resigned from the Congress last month. Another senior Congress leader D K Aruna, who joined the BJP is in electoral fray from Mahabubnagar Lok Sabha seat. The Congress has been facing the problem of defections by its senior leaders into the TRS and the BJP. (Maxim News)
