Ready for Huzurabad bypoll: CEO Shashank Goel

Hyderabad, Sept.28 (Maxim News): Telangana State Chief Electoral Officer (CEO), Shashank Goel today stated that they made all arrangements for the smooth conduct of the by-poll for Huzurabad segment. He told press persons here in the city that the poll body is ready to conduct the by-poll by following corona protocols.

As announced by the EC, the by-poll for Huzurabad segment in Karim Nagar district would be held on October 30 and the results to be announced on November 2, Goel said. The EC instructed for the smooth and fair polls amid corona pandemic and protocols and we have taken necessary action and made all arrangements, Shashank Goel said.

The poll code comes into immediate effect in Karim Nagar and Hanmakonda districts as we have inspected the EVMs in the first phase for the polls, he said.

For the polls 305 polling stations were set up and will increase more if necessary. There are 2,36,269 voters in the Huzurabad segment going for the polls on Oct 30. With NRI and service voters the total number of voters in the segment will reach 2,36,430 voters.

We depute adequate police, revenue and other staff on the job to conduct the polls, Goel said. As per instructions by the Election Commission the state officials got ready for the fair polls. We instructed the district collector and police officials and others to coordinate for the smooth and fair polls, Goel said.

The official said that the model code of conduct came into existence from September 28, Tuesday onwards. The Huzrabad segment has a total of 2,36,269 voters to cast their votes. The vaccination drive has to be completed in the segment and the polling staff should take two doses in Huzruabad ahead of the polls, Goel clarified. (Maxim News)
