Hyderabad, April 23 (Maxim News) : North Telangana is set to face a fresh spell of severe heatwave conditions from Thursday, with temperatures likely to touch 45°C in several districts between April 24 and April 29.
Weather observers have issued a red alert for northern districts, warning residents to remain cautious during peak daytime hours. Orange alert districts may also record temperatures between 43°C and 44°C during the same period.
The latest forecast indicates that the state will experience Severe Heatwave 2.0, with dry winds and rising temperatures expected across many regions.
Hyderabad is also likely to witness intense heatwave conditions over the next few days. Temperatures in some parts of the city may touch 43°C between April 24 and April 29.
Experts said hot afternoons, warm nights and low wind movement could worsen discomfort levels in urban areas. Therefore, residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel during afternoon hours.
Authorities are also expected to monitor water supply, health preparedness and emergency response systems as temperatures climb.
Meteorologists said isolated heat induced thunderstorms may develop in some areas. However, these brief storms are unlikely to bring major temperature relief.
Instead, they may increase humidity levels and create muggy conditions in several districts. As a result, people could feel hotter despite cloud cover or short rainfall spells.
Citizens have been urged to drink plenty of water, wear light clothing and stay indoors during peak heat hours.
Children, senior citizens and people with health issues should take extra care. Workers exposed to direct sunlight have also been advised to take frequent breaks.
Officials said people should stay alert and follow weather updates until the heatwave weakens. (Maxim News)
