Red Fort Blast: NAAC Notice to Al-Falah University
- NAAC questions Al-Falah University over false accreditation claims
- Show-cause notice issued as Delhi blast links trigger wider scrutiny
Delhi/Hyderabad, Nov 13 (Maxim News): The National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) has issued a show-cause notice to Al-Falah University for allegedly displaying false accreditation details on its website. The university has come under investigation following the Delhi blast probe that left 13 people dead and several injured near the Red Fort on Monday.
According to officials, the NAAC found that Al-Falah University’s website carried claims of accreditation that were “neither applied for nor approved.” The council’s notice read that the university “is neither accredited nor applied for accreditation by NAAC,” but publicly displayed information stating otherwise. The website mentioned that “Al-Falah University is an endeavour of Al-Falah Charitable Trust, which has been running three colleges on the campus, namely Al Falah School of Engineering and Technology (since 1997, Graded A by NAAC), Brown Hill College of Engineering and Technology (since 2008), and Al-Falah School of Education and Training (since 2006, Graded A by NAAC).”
Calling this representation “absolutely wrong and misleading the public, especially the parents, students and stakeholders,” the NAAC asked the university to immediately remove all such claims from its website and any other public platforms. The council has also demanded an explanation for this alleged misrepresentation, warning that further action may follow based on the university’s response.
Meanwhile, the Delhi Police investigation into the Red Fort blast continues to unfold. The explosion, described by officials as “high-intensity,” occurred hours after authorities claimed to have dismantled a “white collar terror module.” Three doctors linked to Al-Falah University are among those arrested in connection with the case, intensifying scrutiny of the institution’s operations and affiliations.
The NAAC’s action underscores growing concerns about transparency and integrity in higher education. While investigation agencies probe the blast case, regulators like NAAC are tightening checks on institutions that may misuse accreditation status or public trust.
