Release Leaders, Hold Talks To RTC JAC: CPI To CM
Hyderabad, Nov.16 (Maxim News): CPI Secretary Chada Venkat Reddy lashed out at the State government for arresting RTC JAC leaders Ashwathama Reddy, Raji Reddy and others for hunger protest for not holding talks. Arrests and lathi charges on RTC workers including women, uncalled for and undemocratic he fumed.
In a statement he accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of resorting to oppression on the stroking RTC workers. The workers have legitimate right to protest peacefully for their demands he said. The government should hold talks with the RTC JAC and the strike he demanded.
He objected to 144 section and deployment of large police force in the city and at residences of the RTC JAC leaders. Despite court advisory and passing strictures the KCR Government us remaining adamant, he deplored.
The CPI Secretary demanded that the arrested leaders be released immediately. He said that rulers should not forget that even Gandhiji has conducted a peaceful protest as part of freedom fight in the country. (Maxim News)
