Revanth Govt. Sets 3-Month Deadline for HMDA Pond Survey

Revanth Govt. | Hyderabad, Oct 7 (Maxim News): The Telangana government has taken a crucial decision. A comprehensive survey of ponds under HMDa has been ordered. Area of ponds in Greater Hyderabad, FTL, It has been decided to identify buffer zones.

Irrigation and Revenue Departments have been directed to complete the survey within three months. After the completion of the survey, the government will put the details of the ponds on the website.

Recently, it is known that Hyderabad Disaster Response and Assets Protection Agency (HYDRAA) demolished the encroachments in FTL and the Buffer zone, and some filed petitions in the High Court against these demolitions.

However, the High Court asked the government to ascertain the extent of the FTL of the ponds during the inquiry visit. In this order, the government has ordered to identify FTL and buffer zones first, till then there is doubt whether there will be any demotion of HYDRAA or not.

On the other hand, it is known that the Governor approved the ordinance issued recently giving legitimacy to HYDRA. With this, it seems that HYDRA has got more powers.
