Hyderabad, July 22: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Wednesday condemned the police action against Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra during protests over the alleged NEET examination irregularities. He said the Congress would continue its agitation until Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan is removed from office.
The Chief Minister made the remarks while addressing a dharna organised at Ambedkar Chowrasta in Kodangal, Vikarabad district.
Revanth Reddy Targets Centre Over NEET Issue
Revanth Reddy alleged that the future of students had been put at risk due to the alleged NEET paper leak and criticised the Centre’s handling of the issue.
He said those responsible for the alleged paper leak should have been arrested and accused the authorities of using force against students instead.
The Chief Minister also criticised the police action against Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, saying the right to protest is guaranteed under the Constitution.
Referring to the Congress party’s history, Revanth Reddy said lathi charges were not new to the party and asserted that it had a long tradition of fighting for democratic rights.
He also made political allegations regarding the handling of examination systems and claimed irregularities in previous examination processes.
Revanth Reddy said the Congress would continue its campaign until Dharmendra Pradhan is removed as Union Education Minister. He also appealed to party workers and supporters to continue protesting over the issue.
