Revanth Reddy Criticism of KCR Over Debt and Governance, Announces DA to Employees

Hyderabad, Jan. 12 (Maxim News) : Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Monday launched sharp criticism of former chief minister and BRS president K Chandrashekar Rao, accusing the previous government of leaving the state buried under debt and unpaid dues.

Speaking at Dr BR Ambedkar Secretariat after releasing an employee’s diary, Revanth Reddy said the government now faces deliberate obstacles created to stall administration.

He stated that the previous regime left liabilities of about Rs 11 lakh crore. As a result, the state now struggles under heavy interest payments.

However, he said the present government continues to clear dues step by step. Yet, he added, political conspiracies continue because some leaders cannot accept this progress. Therefore, he directly blamed KCR for repeated attempts to disrupt governance.

Revanth Reddy alleged that advisors at KCR farmhouse misguide him. Moreover, he compared these actions to creating hurdles during important public efforts.

He also said voters rejected the previous leadership many times. Still, he noted, no change appears in their approach.

The chief minister stressed that government employees remain central to administration. He said political representatives number only a few hundred.

In contrast, he said, the state has nearly ten lakh employees. Hence, he described employees as the real strength of governance. He added that they shape both the government image and its public trust.

Revanth Reddy said the government pays salaries on the first day of every month despite financial stress. Meanwhile, he said the administration continues to pay interest on old loans.

Yet, he stressed, the government aims to support farmers, women, youth, and the unemployed. However, he said some groups still try to block these efforts.

He clarified that ministers take decisions. However, he said employees execute them on the ground. Therefore, he urged employees to avoid actions that could harm the government reputation.

Even so, he acknowledged that some employees may not support him personally. Still, he appealed for cooperation in public interest.

The chief minister announced approval of the DA file to benefit employees. As a result, the DA hike will add an extra burden of Rs 227 crore.

Yet, he said the government took the decision after careful thought. In addition, he announced implementation of Rs 1 crore accident insurance for employees.

Revanth Reddy also announced a committee to review district reorganisation. He said previous governments divided districts without clarity.

Therefore, he said a panel of retired and former officials will examine grievances. He added that future district division will follow a scientific approach. (Maxim News)
