Speaking at a press conference organized by the Telangana Union of Working Journalists (TUWJ), Manda Krishna accused Revanth Reddy of being unhappy because the names he recommended for the Padma Shri were not approved. “Is Revanth Reddy upset because I received the Padma Shri? Whose names did he send to the BJP government, and why? Those people have already gained enough benefits,” Manda Krishna said.

He also pointed out that four individuals from the Odla community were selected for the Padma Shri, highlighting their recognition.

Madigas to Show Strength in Telangana

Manda Krishna announced that the Madiga community is planning a large-scale cultural movement in Telangana. “We will show our strength with lakhs of dappus (traditional drums) and thousands of voices,” he said.

He accused certain Congress leaders, including Vivek, son of late G. Venkata Swamy, and the Mallu family (Batti Vikramarka and Mallu Ravi), of deliberately blocking the push for Scheduled Caste (SC) categorization in the state.

Ultimatum to Revanth Reddy

Manda Krishna said MRPS has given Revanth Reddy a two-month deadline to take action on SC categorization. “Revanth Reddy says he supports SC categorization, but he hasn’t taken any real steps to make it happen. The Congress party is playing games with this issue,” he alleged.

Congress Dominated by Malas

He also claimed that the Congress party is dominated by leaders from the Mala community, which is causing hurdles in the SC categorization movement. Manda Krishna pointed out that Mallikarjuna Kharge, the Congress national president, is a Mala and alleged that leaders like Vivek are using their wealth to suppress the Madiga community’s efforts.

He referred to the recent “Malala Simha Garjana” event at Parade Ground as an example of the Congress party’s focus on the Mala community, hinting at a lack of representation for the Madigas.

This growing conflict highlights divisions within the SC communities and the ongoing struggle for SC categorization in Telangana. (Maxim News)
