Revanth Reddy education vision | Hyderabad: Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy said education will shape future generations and drive the state’s reconstruction.
Speaking in the Legislative Assembly, Revanth Reddy stressed the need for major changes in the education system. He said a 2024 CPECK survey identified lack of education as a key reason for social backwardness.
He said wealth alone cannot prevent social backwardness if people remain away from education. According to Revanth, education can help people improve their social and economic standing.
The Chief Minister said global education systems changed significantly after the LPG reforms. Therefore, Telangana is now working to transform its education policy.
He said the government wants students to compete at the international level. The plan also aims to prepare young people for the changing demands of the future.
Revanth referred to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru’s contribution to India’s education sector. He said Nehru helped lay the foundations for several prestigious educational institutions.
The Chief Minister said his government would follow that vision. He said classrooms would play a key role in shaping Gen Z, Gen Alpha and Gen Beta generations.

Revanth Reddy said the government established a special Education Commission to address gaps in the education system. He said Telangana had not seen such a dedicated commission even during the undivided state.
He also announced the appointment of the Keshava Rao Committee. The committee will help prepare new guidelines for Telangana in line with the National Education Policy.
The state currently has 28,163 government educational institutions. Around 28.77 lakh students study in these institutions, while 1.57 lakh staff members work across the system.
Revanth also highlighted Telangana’s teacher availability. The Right to Education framework provides for one teacher for every 30 students.
However, Telangana currently has one teacher for every 17 students, according to the Chief Minister. He presented the figure as an indication of the state’s teacher availability.
Revanth also compared teacher recruitment under the previous and present governments. He said the previous government recruited only 7,857 teachers during its 10 year tenure.
In contrast, his government issued a notification for 11,000 teacher posts within one year of taking office. He said the recruitment process left no room for corruption or even minor criticism.
The government also issued appointment letters to 10,600 teachers within 55 days, he said. Revanth described the recruitment as a transparent process.
The Chief Minister further said the government has increased budget allocations for education. He also promised a special review based on suggestions made by Assembly members.
He said the government would use those suggestions to strengthen the education sector further. The focus, he added, would remain on building better opportunities for students and preparing them for future challenges.
Revanth’s Assembly speech placed education at the centre of his government’s long term vision. He linked school reforms, teacher recruitment and policy changes to the wider goal of social progress.
The government now plans to continue reviewing the education system while implementing its new policy measures. The stated focus remains on classrooms, teachers and the future needs of younger generations.
