Revanth Reddy Ordered Officials To Install Fully Underground Power Lines In Future City

Hyderabad, May 16 (Maxim News): Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has ordered officials to install fully underground power lines in Future City.

He clarified that electricity towers, poles and lines should not be visible in Future City. He said that high tension lines will also have to be removed from there.

Revanth Reddy held a review with officials of the power department today. Speaking on the occasion, he suggested that smart poles be installed on an experimental basis in Greater Hyderabad.

He wanted smart poles to be brought in areas like Secretariat, Necklace Road and KBR Park. He ordered that necessary plans be prepared for solar power generation on the 160 km Outer Ring Road.

Officials explained to the Chief Minister that the electricity demand has reached a record high of 17,162 megawatts this year. He said that the electricity demand has increased by 9.8 percent compared to last year. It is estimated that the demand will increase to 18,138 megawatts in 2025-26.

He said that the electricity demand will reach 31,808 megawatts by 2034-35. Officials explained to the Chief Minister that quality electricity is being provided without any interruption.

The Chief Minister explained to the officials that the demand for electricity will increase due to the ambitious projects being brought by the government in the next three years. In this context, he suggested that a plan be prepared for the electricity needs of the next three years.

He said that the electricity needs of the irrigation projects being built in the state should be kept in mind. He said that the electricity needs of railway lines, metro and other mass transport should be taken into account.

He said that the electricity needs of other corporations along with Greater Hyderabad should be taken into account. He said that the electricity needs of the newly established data centers and industrial users should be kept in mind,

He said that Hyderabad is going to become a hub of data centers in the future. He said that a data city is going to be established in Hyderabad. He suggested that coordination should be done with HMDA on the power requirements of radial roads and satellite townships being constructed within the Regional ring Road.

He clarified that substations should be upgraded according to the power demand at the field level. He wanted to focus on the modernization of power lines. He wanted to examine the opportunities for solar power generation in the footpaths and drains within the GHMC limits. (Maxim News)
