Sudarshan Goud’s wife, Vailala Bhargavi, had sought Rs. 6 lakh for repatriating her husband’s body through the Praja Vani programme. She requested assistance so the family could perform the final rites with dignity and according to their traditions.

Following the Chief Minister’s directions, officials issued orders to release the amount from the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. They were also instructed to take necessary steps to bring his mortal remains back to India.

Meanwhile, another Telangana man, Mohammed Afzal Khan, 43, from Banswada in Kamareddy district, is feared to have died in the Russia-Ukraine war.

Afzal Khan reportedly travelled to Russia in February 2026 after being promised a civilian job in the oil industry. His family has approached the Ministry of External Affairs to establish his whereabouts.
