Revanth Reddy writes to CM seeking financial aid to kin of suicide victim of Ramagundam

Hyderabad, Aug.27 (NSS)TPCC chief A. Revanth Reddy today wrote an open letter to Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao demanding him to extend financial aid to the family members of the youth, who committed suicide following a job scam in Ramagundam Fertilizers factory .

In his letter to the CM, Revanth Reddy told the Chief Minister that the Congress government at the Centre earlier had sanctioned ₹1000 crore for the restoration of the Ramagundam fertilisers factory and added that the factory was started last year . He alleged that Minister Koppula Eeswar and Ramagundam MLA Chander collected ₹6 lakh to ₹15 lakh from some 800 unemployed youths and provided temporary jobs to them. They promised the jobless youth that their jobs would be made permanent very soon. They also said the temporary employees could sell their jobs to others.

Revanth told the Chief Minister that a total of ₹50 crore changed hands in the job scam. He said the new contractor, who took over the contract of the company, removed half of the 800 temporary employees. Reddy said a temporary employee of the company Harish Goud, a native Ammalapuram village under Keshavapatnam committed suicide by jumping into a well.  He said the victim also shot a video before committing suicide.

He asked the CM as to why he was silent on the issue. He demanded that KCR expel Minister Koppula Eeswar and MLA K. Chander from their posts immediately. He told the CM that the local police arrested their party leaders former MP Ponnam Prabhakar, DCC president Kavvampally Satyanarayana, Adi Srinivas and others. He demanded that the CM release them immediately. He also demanded that the Chief Minister pay ex gratia of ₹50 lakh to the family members of the victim besides providing a government job to an eligible family member of the victim. (NSS)
