Hyderabad, Oct 15 (Maxim News): Triple-R farmers, also known as RRR Farmers, have announced that they will contest the Jubilee Hills by-election, citing unpaid compensation linked to land acquisition for the Regional Ring Road project.
The group has issued an ultimatum to the state government to respond by the 20th of this month and clear dues. Otherwise, they say 300 farmers are ready to file nominations on the 21st.
The decision marks a sharp escalation in their protest against delays in compensation. The government has taken up the Regional Ring Road with great ambition and is pressing the centre for all required permissions.
In this context, authorities have initiated land acquisition. However, there is a delay in paying compensation to affected farmers.
Due to this, farmers say they are worried. Their move to enter the electoral fray is intended to draw attention to their demands during the Jubilee Hills by-election.
Meanwhile, the farmers have framed their plan as a direct contest against the state government in the Jubilee Hills by-election.
They argue that the lack of timely compensation has pushed them to this point. Therefore, they have set a clear timeline for action, putting the administration on notice.
If the government fails to act by the 20th, they plan to demonstrate collective dissent through coordinated nominations on the 21st.
Also, the situation highlights the tension between large infrastructure goals and timely rehabilitation.
The state is moving ahead on the Regional Ring Road and seeking clearances from the centre. However, farmers say the delay in payments undermines trust.
