Karimnagar: Karimnagar Police busted a banned gutka circulation gang and detained two of its members on Wednesday. A total of Rs 3.75 lakh worth gutka packets and a vehicle were seized from them.
Based on reliable information, Task Force cops along with Manakondur police conducted vehicle checking in Pachunur village in the early hours and arrested two persons for carrying the banned gutka packets.
The accused were identified as Chidirala Ashok from Markandaya Colony in Godavarikhani of Peddapalli district and Thatipalli Srinivas, a resident of Challuru of Veenavanka mandal.
On questioning, the accused revealed that they used to purchase gutka packets from one Anugam Sai Krishna of Odela mandal, Peddapalli district and circulate them in surrounding areas of Karimnagar town to make a fast buck.
One of the gang member Sai Krishna was absconding. Manakondur police registered the case.
