Amit Shah visited Thiruvananthapuram after the BJP led NDA won the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation in the recent local body elections. This was his first visit to the state after that victory. During the visit, he addressed newly elected BJP representatives. He also launched the party’s Mission 2026 campaign. Meanwhile, his visit gained political importance as Kerala Assembly elections are scheduled to be held this year.

Referring to the Sabarimala gold theft case, Amit Shah said the issue was not limited to Kerala alone. He said it concerned devotees across the country. He questioned how a government that failed to protect valuable items at such an important shrine could safeguard the religious beliefs of people. He also alleged that the FIR in the Sabarimala gold theft case appeared to have been prepared in favour of the accused. According to him, two suspects in the case were linked to the LDF, which raised serious doubts about the fairness of the investigation.
