Uttar Pradesh chief minister and Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav has offered 99 seats to Congress for upcoming assembly elections in the state.
Akhilesh Yadav’s offer came after a talk between SP and Congress leader Ghulam Nabi Azaad and a special emissary of Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in Lucknow.
However, there is no official word from Congress yet on whether it has accepted the SP offer of 99 seats or rejected it.
While senior Congress leader Raj Babbar dismissed the reports of a stalemate, SP’s Uttar Pradesh unit chief Naresh Agrawal said the chances of an alliance appear bleak.
