Hyderabad: A 18-day-old infant died after his father allegedly smashed him onto the floor during a domestic dispute with his wife in Jogipet town of Sangareddy district on Saturday. The accused has been taken into police custody.
According to the police, the accused, Krishna, and his wife Gouri, residents of Vasavi Nagar in Jogipet, reportedly argued over a domestic issue on Saturday morning.

Police said that in a fit of rage, Krishna allegedly picked up his 18-day-old son by his legs and threw him onto the floor, causing severe head injuries.
The infant’s mother, with the help of neighbours, immediately rushed the baby to the Government Hospital in Sangareddy. However, doctors declared the child dead on arrival.
Following the incident, the Jogipet Police registered a case and took the accused into custody. The body was shifted for a post-mortem examination.
Police are investigating the circumstances that led to the incident. Further legal action will be taken based on the findings of the investigation.
