Sanjay Jaju | Hyderabad, Aug 6 (Maxim News): Telangana Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju participated in the Bonalu celebrations at the Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Telangana State Secretariat on Thursday and offered special prayers for the peace, prosperity, and well-being of the people of the state.
The Bonalu festival was celebrated with traditional fervour under the auspices of the Secretariat Employees’ Association.
The Chief Secretary Sanjay Jaju took part in the special rituals conducted at the Sri Nalla Pochamma Temple located within the Secretariat premises.
Jaju prayed for the good health, happiness, and continued development of Telangana. He later extended Bonalu greetings to the people of the state and expressed hope that the blessings of Goddess Mahankali would bring peace and prosperity to every household.

As part of the celebrations, Secretariat employees offered the traditional Bonam to the Goddess with devotion. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from government employees and senior officials, who joined the religious rituals and offered prayers.
The celebrations also featured vibrant cultural performances, including the traditional Pothuraju dance, drum processions, and performances by artists dressed in colourful traditional attire. The festivities created a festive atmosphere across the Secretariat premises.
Bonalu is one of Telangana’s most significant festivals, dedicated to Goddess Mahankali. Devotees offer Bonam, a traditional meal prepared with rice, jaggery, milk, and curd, as a mark of gratitude and prayers for the well-being of their families and communities.
The festival is celebrated across Hyderabad and other parts of Telangana with temple processions, cultural performances, and special rituals, drawing thousands of devotees every year. (Maxim News)
