Ugadi Celebrations | Hyderabad, March 16 (Maxim News): Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari asked the officials to make elaborate arrangements in a befitting manner on the occasion of ensuing “Sobhkrutha Naama Samvatsaram (Ugadi)” festival to be held at Ravindra Bharathi on 22nd of this month.

Chief secretary held a meeting with officials and took stock of the arrangements being made in connection with Ugadi festival. Advisor to the Government K V Ramanachary and other senior officials attended the meeting.

Chief Secretary directed the endowments department officials to make arrangements for veda pandits and transportation of awardees. The culture department was asked to make proper arrangements for dais, stage decoration, printing of invitation cards, seating arrangements and for Kavi Sammelanam in the evening. The water board was directed to ensure supply of drinking water at the venue.

Chief Secretary instructed the Police department to provide adequate security and prepare a parking plan so as to avoid inconvenience to the general public.

Officials were also told to provide uninterrupted power supply, arrangements of signages and illumination of important government buildings on the 21st and 22nd of this month.

Chief Secretary observed that Ugadi being the beginning of the Telugu new year, all the officials should participate in the function wearing traditional dress so as to give a festive look.
