Santosh Rao Attends SIT Inquiry In Phone Tapping Case

Hyderabad: Former Rajya Sabha member and BRS key leader Santosh Rao appeared before the Special Investigation Team for questioning in the phone tapping case on January 27. SIT officials questioned him at the Jubilee Hills ACP office after issuing notices a day earlier. The inquiry forms part of the ongoing probe into the alleged phone tapping case being investigated by the SIT.

According to officials, the SIT issued notices to Santosh Rao on Monday, directing him to appear for questioning in connection with the case. Following the notice, Santosh Rao presented himself before the SIT officials on Tuesday. The questioning took place at the Jubilee Hills ACP office, where investigators sought details related to the phone tapping case.

Meanwhile, Santosh Rao had earlier spoken to the media after receiving the SIT notice. He confirmed that he would cooperate with the investigation. “I will appear before the SIT officials tomorrow and will answer all the questions they ask regarding the case,” he said. As stated, he appeared before the SIT and faced questioning as part of the inquiry process.

Also, the SIT has already questioned other senior leaders in the same case. Officials earlier interrogated former ministers Harish Rao and KTR. The SIT recorded their statements as part of the investigation. Their questioning marked a key phase in the probe and added momentum to the case.

Therefore, Santosh Rao’s appearance before the SIT adds another significant development in the phone tapping inquiry. The SIT continues to examine the sequence of events and statements of political leaders connected to the case. Later, SIT officials are expected to continue the process of questioning others linked to the case, as required.
