Savitribai Phule a Visionary Who Laid The Foundation For Women’s Education In India: Mahesh Kumar Goud

Hyderabad, Jan 3 (Maxim News): The Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee, Chief, Mahesh Kumar Goud, praised Savitribai Phule as a visionary who laid the foundation for women’s education in India.  He acknowledged her role in establishing the country’s first women’s school and her unwavering commitment to empowering Dalits and oppressed communities. He noted that Savitribai Phule’s dedication to education was not just for academic learning but also for giving women the self-confidence to rise above societal restrictions.

TPCC President was the chief guest at the 194th state-level birth anniversary celebrations of the pioneering social reformer Savitribai Phule. The event, organized by the BC Women’s Welfare Association at Ravindra Bharathi, highlighted the significant contributions of Savitribai Phule in the field of education, especially for women and marginalized communities.

Highlighting her courage, Goud referred to her as a brave woman who fought for women’s empowerment in an era when women were restricted from stepping outside their homes. He also emphasized that the Congress party is committed to the Kamareddy BC Declaration and works towards the upliftment of the backward classes.

During the event, Goud expressed his strong support for the establishment of a university in the name of Savitribai Phule, underscoring the need to honor her legacy. He also advocated for naming future educational institutions after both Savitribai Phule and her husband, Jyotirao Phule, in recognition of their transformative contributions to society.

The TPCC President did not hold back in his criticism of the ruling BRS leaders, calling it immoral for them to discuss the issues of backward classes. He questioned the allocation of funds for BC welfare during the 10 years of BRS rule and highlighted the Congress government’s long-term vision for education and healthcare.

Goud further slammed the BRS for failing to empower BC communities, asking, “Does BRS have the power to make a BC child the working president?” He reaffirmed the Congress party’s commitment to conducting a nationwide caste census survey, stressing the importance of transparency and accountability in governance.

In his closing remarks, Goud expressed confidence that the Congress party would continue its fight for the rights of the oppressed and marginalized communities. He urged the Congress leadership to remain a voice for the people, regardless of caste, and emphasized that the Congress government would prioritize the welfare of the public over political opportunism.
