Impact on Rajya Sabha Composition

The by-election presents an opportunity for the Congress party to gain an additional seat in the Rajya Sabha. With Keshav Rao’s shift to Congress, the Rajya Sabha seat previously held by him will now be contested. This change resulted in a loss of one Rajya Sabha seat for the BRS. Given the majority of MLAs in Telangana, the Congress is expected to secure this seat, thereby strengthening its position in the Rajya Sabha. (Maxim News)
