Hyderabad, August 19: Schools and other educational institutions in Hyderabad will remain closed on August 26 for Milad-un-Nabi, according to the provided holiday details.
The Telangana government has listed Milad-Un-Nabi as a general holiday in the 2026 holiday calendar. Therefore, government offices and other institutions covered by the holiday will also remain closed.
Milad un Nabi marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad. Muslims observe the occasion on 12 Rabi al Awwal, the third month of the Islamic calendar.
Milad-Un-Nabi preparations underway in Hyderabad
Preparations for Milad-Un-Nabi have begun across Hyderabad. Religious gatherings and community welfare programmes are planned at several locations.
A blood donation camp was held in Vijayanagar Colony on August 16. More welfare programmes are expected in the coming days.
Religious gatherings are also likely at mosques and auditoriums across the city. Community organisations are making arrangements for the celebrations.
The Markazi Milad Juloos Committee is preparing for the main Milad procession. The procession is scheduled for August 26.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad is expected to witness increased activity around major religious centres ahead of the occasion.
The holiday will provide a break for students and staff at schools and other educational institutions. Government offices covered under the general holiday will also remain closed.
