SEC Holds Video Conference With Collectors, SPs

Hyderabad, Dec.27 (Maxim News): State Election Commissioner Nagi Reddy held video conference with District Collectors of Police and discussed about conduct of municipal elections, bandobust arrangements and so on. He also asked them to impart training to the returning officers once again.

The State Election Commissioner directed the Collectors and District Election authorities to set up polling stations and publish its final list on January 13 ahead of the municipal polls. As the elections to municipalities and municipal corporations will be held on January 22, he asked them to prepare the final list of polling stations and publish as per the schedule based on ward-wise final electoral rolls on January 4 by adopting Assembly electoral rolls, with reference to January 1 as the qualifying date.

The schedule stipulates that the preparation of draft list of polling stations will be done on January 4, which will be published on January 5. Claims, objections and suggestions will be taken up on January 8 till 5 pm. The Election Commission will hold a meeting with representatives of political parties on January 9, and Municipal Commissioners will submit the final list of polling stations to the Collector and concerned district election authority on the same day.
