Second priority to Roads after irrigation: KCR
Hyderabad, Jan.20 (Maxim News): Leader of the House and Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao today announced that 1.25 crore acres will be brought under irrigation in the coming three years as the State government gave top priority to it.
Replying to the debate in the Assembly on fourth day on thanksgiving to Governor’s Speech, the Leader of the House vowed to complete all the irrigation projects on time. “So far, we have spent Rs 99 crore for the works of the projects and Rs 1.17 lakh crore on the ongoing projects in the State”, he announced. “We are moving ahead with a plan to make total use of allocated waters to the State and I appeal to the land-owners to take care of tenant farmers”, he said, adding that roads are second priority for his government and all the roads in the gram panchayats will get BT roads in two years. Officials were instructed to lay roads in all the villages in conformity with manifesto promises.
In addition to the promises in the manifesto, the State government will keep other promises for public welfare, he said. “A study will be conducted to finalize the number of unemployed youth in the State to give them allowance without any problems. There was no compromise on peace and security as the government was proud that law and order situation was intact and the Police department will get command control to coordinate with its all wings. KCR said the Centre did not give even Rs 24 crore despite the Niti Ayog recommended Rs 24,000 crore financial assistance to the State for Mission Bagiratha amd Mission Kakatiya programs. The Chief Minister also said the State government will get revenue and spend a total of Rs 10 lakh crore in the next five years.
The Chief Minister also said the government will have to repay Rs 2.40 lakh crore during the coming five years. For development works about Rs 4 lakh crore to Rs 5 lakh crore will be spent in the State, he said. “The Governor’s speech was right and the State government will keep all the promises made to the people.
