Secunderabad Cantonment People Wants Polls Based On Electoral Roll

Hyderabad, Feb 19 (Maxim News): In view of the notification for the elections of the Secunderabad Cantonment Board released, local people, expressed their opinions. Most of the residents of the area supported the elections and demanded to implementation of photo electoral rolls and few are against the conduct of elections.

The people said as there is a proposal for the merger of Secunderabad Cantonment Board with the Greater hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), then why the Ministry of Defence passes the order for holding the elections, with this the merger with GHMC will be delayed, why there is a need of conducting elections, this is the black day for Secunderabad Cantonment Board.

Some people has welcome the decision of conducting elections after eight years and they felt that this decision of holding elections will not hamper the process of merger and also photo electoral rolls should be released, so that they will be no duplication said the resident of Secunderabad Cantonment Board.

When the photo electoral rolls are being implemented by the Election Commission of India for both Assembly and Lok Sabha elections then why Ministry of Defence not implementing the same for Cantonment Board elections as in last elections as somebody had utilised it said another local.
