Seized Rs. 14.34 Cr Cash So Far: DEO Ronald Rose

Hyderabad, April 18 (Maxim News): DEO Ronald Rose informed that Rs. 14,34,61,890 in cash along with other materials worth Rs. 2,01,82,485 and 20,767.52 liters of illegal liquor have been seized in the Hyderabad district till today.

He further stated that 195 cases have been registered and 192 people have been arrested in connection with these seizures. 396 complaints related to election to cash and materials received and resolved.  261 FIRs registered, 2877 licensed weapons deposited.

In a single day from 6 am on April 17 to 6 am on April 18 (today) Rs. 2,96,350 cash and material worth Rs. 1,69.397 and illegal liquor 325.63 litres were seized by the Excise Department, 10 cases registered and 11 people arrested.  13 complaints related to cash and other materials received and resolved.  10 FIRs registered  35 licensed weapons deposited.

Total Seizures since the announcement of the election schedule: Rs. 3,06,54,220/- seized by Flying Squad teams, Rs. 11,12,27,980/- seized by Police and IT Department, Rs. 15,79,690/- seized by SST teams

The seized cash and materials will be deposited with the government treasury. The arrested individuals are being questioned and further action will be taken as per law. The Election Commission is taking strict measures to ensure a free and fair election in the district. (Maxim News)
