Semester System In Distance Education From This Academic Year

Hyderabad: Professor G. Ram Reddy Center for Distance Education (PGRRCDE), a distance education department of Osmania University has decided to introduce a semester system in PG courses this academic year.

As part of the semester system, it has been stated that the PG courses will be divided into four semesters. In PG courses like MA Arts, MA Social Sciences, M.Com. M.Sc is conducted in English and Urdu medium.

Officials said that the notification for July Session admissions in PG this year will be released in 15 days. However, the officials revealed that admissions will be done on a semester basis and will be included in the notification.

PGRRCDE officials have decided to introduce new courses like Right to Information Act, TV Anchoring, B.Com Computers Course, and PG Diploma in Yoga this year. These courses are planned to be started in this academic year.

Meanwhile, as the Choice Based Credit System (CBCS) is being followed throughout the country in distance education, the officials explained that the system will be implemented this semester as per the instructions of the UGC.
