Hyderabad, March 22: IMD Hyderabad issued a yellow alert for thunderstorms across Telangana for two days. The department warned of lightning and squalls on March 24 and March 25. Officials asked residents to stay alert. They also advised people to plan travel carefully.
The alert covers all districts of the state. Meanwhile, the weather office said unstable conditions may affect daily activity. Therefore, people may face sudden weather changes. The department continues to track the system.
IMD Hyderabad Forecast Shows Heat and Hazy Conditions
Telangana Development Planning Society reported rising heat across the state. The temperature crossed 40 degrees Celsius in several places. Jayashankar district recorded the highest temperature at 40.1 degrees Celsius on Saturday, March 21.
Hyderabad also saw high temperatures. Bandlaguda, Bahadurpura and Golkonda recorded 36.4 degrees Celsius. Meanwhile, the weather office forecast hazy skies along with thunderstorms in the city till March 25. As a result, weather may remain unstable.
The department said morning haze may cover all city zones. These include Charminar, Khairathabad, Kukatpally, LB Nagar, Secunderabad and Serilingampally. However, conditions may improve later in the day. Officials said people should watch daily forecasts.
The IMD also linked the warning to thunderstorm activity expected across districts. Therefore, residents should check updates before travel. They should also remain careful during lightning and squalls. Authorities may issue further updates if conditions change.
