Seven Drugs Detected At DCA Laboratory Does Not Match With Standard Quality
Hyderabad, Jan 28 (Maxim News): The Telangana State Drug Control Administration (TSDCA) has identified batches of seven drugs, including five broad-spectrum antibiotics, which were Not of Standard Quality (NSQ) and unfit for consumption.

During raids and seizures, the drug inspectors of TSDCA collected random samples of life-saving drugs and sent them to the state-of-the-art drug laboratory of DCA for testing. In December, the DCA state laboratory testing data, which were submitted to the Central Drugs Standard Control Organization (CDSCO), the central drug regulatory authority, identified a total of seven NSQ drugs of different batches.
The antibiotics that were found to be NSQ include
– Ceaxil – 500 Tablets, Cefuroxime Axetil Tablets IP, which is a Cephalosporin antibiotic for the treatment of a broad range of antibacterial infections, was manufactured by Dr. Edwin Medilabs Pvt Ltd, Kurali, Punjab.
-Jakclav-625 Tablets, Amoxicillin, and Potassium Clavulanate Tablets are frequently prescribed antibiotics by physicians for the treatment of bacterial infections in the ears, lungs, sinuses, skin, and urinary tract. The Jakclav-625 is manufactured by Greenac Pharma Raipur, Roorkee, Uttarakhand-247667, and marketed by Well nowHealthcare, Borivali East, Mumbai.
Jikeef-LB Tablets, Cefixime, and Lactic Acid Bacillus Tablets Vithrocin Suspension manufactured by Greenac and marketed by WellnowHealthcare.
– Jikef-AZ Tablets, Cefixime, and Azithromycin Tablets manufactured by Greenac and marketed by Wellnow Health Care.
Vithrocin Suspension, Azithromycin Oral Suspension manufactured by Vital Therapeutics & Formulations Cherlapally, Medchal Malkajgiri district.
– Pantacca 40 Tablets and Pantoprazole Gastro Resistant Tablets IP 40 mg meant for acid reflux, heartburn peptic ulcers, etc. manufactured by Windlass Biotech Limited Plant-2, Dehradun, and marketed by Panacca Life Sciences Limited, New Delhi.
Pantoprazole Sodium Tablets IP 40mg manufactured by Spansules Formulation India Pvt Ltd, IDA Bollaram (V) Sangareddy. (Maxim News)
