Shabbir Ali Pays Courtesy Visit To CJI Venkata Ramana

Hyderabad, June 14 (Maxim News): Former Minister Mohammed Ali Shabbir paid a courtesy visit to Chief Justice of India N. Venkata Ramana at Raj Bhavan on Monday.

Shabbir Ali felicitated Chief Justice NV Ramana by offering a shawl and congratulated him on his appointment as the 48th Chief Justice of India. He also thanked the Chief Justice for sanctioning additional judges to the Telangana State and hoped that this would reduce pendency while ensuring delivery of justice at a faster pace.

Shabbir described Chief Justice Ramana as a truly inspirational personality who began his journey from a small village and reached the top position of the Chief Justice of India. He said CJI Ramana has redefined the meaning of judicial activism for which he would be remembered for decades.

The Congress leader also recalled the landmark judgments delivered by CJI Venkata Ramana on various issues including bringing the office of the Chief Justice of India under the ambit of RTI, lifting internet curbs in Jammu & Kashmir and ordering fast track courts to deal with criminal cases against MLAs and MPs. He also lauded CJI Ramana for recommending social justice in appointment of judges.

He said Justice Ramana was a role model for all Telugu people. “Despite being a first-generation lawyer with an agricultural background, you’ve reached the top position of Chief Justice of India. I pray to the Almighty to grant you and your family a healthy, prosperous and long life,” he told the Chief Justice.

Shabbir informed that he had a brief discussion on a few important issues with the Chief Justice during the meeting. (Maxim News)
