Among them is Gaddam Vamshi, son of Congress MLA Gaddam Vivek, who recently switched allegiance from the BJP. Notably, Vivek himself represented the Peddapalli constituency under the Congress banner in 2009 and his late father, G. Venkat Swamy, was a four-time MP from the same region.
In the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Venkatesh secured a comfortable victory in Peddapalli, defeating his closest rival from Congress by over 95,000 votes. This win solidified the BRS’s hold on the region.

However, with Netha’s departure, coupled with ongoing internal adjustments and an influx of new contenders in the Congress camp, the BRS faces a significant challenge. In the previous Lok Sabha elections, the BRS emerged victorious in nine seats, while the BJP and Congress bagged four and three seats respectively. The AIMIM retained its lone seat in Hyderabad.
As the political landscape in Telangana undergoes a dynamic shift, Netha’s defection highlights the intensifying competition and evolving alliances within the state’s political sphere. This sets the stage for a thrilling electoral contest in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls in 2024, with all major parties vying for dominance. (Maxim News)
