Oustees of land to be displaced by Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) for its proposed new unit of the thermal power plant staged rasta roko on the National Highway-63, seeking jobs for their children in the project. Consequently, traffic came to standstill for over 30 minutes.
They expressed their concerns during a public hearing held by the Telangana Pollution Control Board in the presence of Collector RV Karnan at Jaipur mandal on Wednesday. They demanded jobs to locals whose lands were to be acquired for erecting the 800-Mw unit.
