- BRS delegation led by KTR to raise Singareni scam
- Report with evidence to be submitted to Governor Jishnu Dev Varma
The Bharat Rashtra Samithi will meet the state Governor Jishnu Dev Varma on January 27 over the Singareni scam. The party said it will raise serious allegations of corruption against the current Congress government in Telangana. The delegation will be led by BRS Working President KTR. The party announced the move on January 26 and said the meeting will focus only on the Singareni issue.
According to the party, the Congress government is mired in corruption, especially in the Singareni organisation. The BRS alleged that public money worth thousands of crores of rupees is being looted arbitrarily. Therefore, the party decided to approach the Governor and seek immediate action. The leaders said the matter involves a prestigious public institution and demands urgent attention.
During the meeting, the BRS delegation will submit a comprehensive report to the Governor. The party said the report contains complete evidence and in depth details related to the alleged Singareni scam. Meanwhile, the party also claimed that the state Chief Minister, his family members, the Deputy Chief Minister, and several ministers were directly involved. It alleged that the scam reflects serious failure in protecting public wealth.
The party plans to appeal to the Governor to respond immediately. It said the Governor, as a constitutional authority, should take appropriate action after reviewing the material. The BRS further stated that those involved in such a huge scam have no moral or constitutional right to continue in office. This message, the party said, will be clearly conveyed during the meeting.
Later, the BRS said key MLAs, MPs, and senior leaders will participate in the programme. They will also express their protest before the Governor. The party maintained that it will pursue a thorough investigation into the Singareni scam and ensure strict action against those responsible.
