Hyderabad: Hyderabad district has completed only 58.58% digitisation of electoral rolls under the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) 2026, with more than 18.74 lakh voters classified as Absent, Shifted or Dead (ASD).
The latest status report was released by the Chief Electoral Officer, Telangana, on Sunday, a day before the deadline for submitting enumeration forms.
Hyderabad has remained the slowest district in Telangana in terms of digitisation despite the Election Commission of India revising the SIR schedule three times.
SIR 2026: Hyderabad records lowest digitisation in Telangana
According to the report, Hyderabad district distributed 47,36,669 enumeration forms to electors. So far, 27,68,347 electors have submitted their forms for the revision process.
The district has achieved a digitisation rate of 58.58%. In comparison, Yadadri Bhuvanagiri has recorded the highest digitisation rate in Telangana at 94.30%.
The SIR exercise has also identified a large number of ASD voters in Hyderabad. Of the district’s total 47,36,669 electors, as many as 18,74,641 were classified as Absent, Shifted or Dead.
These ASD voters account for 39.58% of the total electoral roll in the district. The enumeration forms linked to these voters were reported as uncollectible.
The final deadline for submitting SIR enumeration forms is August 10 at 6 pm. Officials are expected to continue efforts to complete the digitisation process before the deadline.
Among Hyderabad’s Assembly constituencies, Jubilee Hills recorded the highest number of ASD electors at 1,80,861 as of 2 pm on August 9.
It was followed by Chandrayangutta with 1,48,863, Yakutpura with 1,42,215, Karwan with 1,41,293, and Musheerabad with 1,40,844.
The figures highlight the scale of the electoral roll revision exercise in Hyderabad. The Election Commission and district authorities will now face the task of verifying the records and ensuring that eligible voters are not left out of the final electoral rolls.
