Hyderabad: India and Saudi Arabia have discussed measures to improve the Haj experience for Indian pilgrims, including technical integration of Haj portals and the use of emerging technologies for better coordination and services.
Secretary of the Ministry of Minority Affairs Srivatsa Krishna held meetings with senior Saudi officials in Jeddah and Riyadh as part of preparations for Haj 2027.
The discussions focused on integrating Indian and Saudi Haj portals, streamlining services and improving coordination for Indian pilgrims. Officials also discussed accommodation, transportation and other essential arrangements.
India, Saudi Arabia Plan Better Haj Arrangements for 2027
Krishna, accompanied by Indian Consul General Fahad Ahmed Khan Suri, met Abdulaziz Al Mathami, Deputy Minister for Planning and Digital Transformation in Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Haj and Umrah.
The delegation also held discussions with the Nusuk Masar team on technical integration between the two countries’ Haj portals. The sides explored how emerging technologies could improve coordination and make services more efficient.
The Indian delegation separately met Abdulaziz bin Abdul Rahim Wazzan, Deputy Minister for Haj and Umrah. The meeting focused on improving the Haj experience for Indian pilgrims in Madinah.
Key issues included accommodation, transportation, coordination and other arrangements required during the pilgrimage. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to ensuring a smooth, safe and comfortable Haj 2027 for Indian pilgrims.
Earlier, the delegation met Abdulfattah S. Mashat, Vice Minister for Haj and Umrah. The meeting covered preparations for Haj 2027 and ways to strengthen cooperation between India and Saudi Arabia.
The Indian delegation has also held discussions on Haj flights and transportation facilities. Krishna met Rumaih Mohammed Al-Rumaih, Vice Minister of Transport and Logistics Services, in Riyadh on Thursday.
The talks covered arrangements for Haj flights and other transport services for Indian pilgrims.
On Wednesday, Krishna met Nouf Suliman Alnumair, Deputy Minister for International Cooperation. Discussions focused on medical and health services for Indian pilgrims during Haj 2027.
The series of meetings underline efforts by India and Saudi Arabia to strengthen coordination ahead of the next Haj season. The focus remains on improving digital services, transport, accommodation, healthcare and overall arrangements for Indian pilgrims.
