Voter enumeration forms meant for one village have reached another, and some contain a different name and photo, officials and voters say.
Election officials in Gangadhara mandal, Karimnagar district, say forms for Dabbathimmayyapalli and Pudur villages in Jagtial district, and Neelojipalli and Kodurupaka villages in Rajanna Sircilla district, were delivered to Gangadhara gram panchayat. As a result, booth level officers (BLOs) cannot distribute forms.
Many forms show one person’s name but a different person’s photo. BLOs say they do not know which resident the form belongs to. They have stopped handing out the packets and left them stacked at the office.
Voters worry they may lose the chance to register under the Special Intensive Revision process if errors are not fixed. Local officials have asked higher election authorities to investigate and correct the records.
They also urged prompt reconciliation so affected voters can verify and claim their entries before the revision closes.
