Warangal/Hyderabad, Aug 13 (Maxim News): In the Special Voters’ Amendment List (SIR) process, rural residents living in cities have given priority to keeping their voting rights in the villages. The details released by the Election Commission on the occasion of the conclusion of the SIR process on the 10th of this month revealed that a majority of votes in cities have been permanently changed.
In Warangal East, Vardhannapet, and Narsampet constituencies, people who come from rural areas for their children’s education, business, jobs, and employment have until now been able to vote in both their own villages and in urban areas.
With the SIR brought by the Election Commission, all those living in the cities made sure that their votes were in their own villages. Because they realized that if they had the right to vote in the villages, they would get all kinds of government schemes, many schemes like Rythu Bandhu, employment guarantee, etc., or else they would risk losing all of them. They made permanent shifting of their votes in the SIR so that even if they lived in the cities, they would have the right to vote in the villages. This prevented double voting in both the cities and the villages. The highest number of voters in the permanent shifting was from the Warangal East constituency.
Out of the total 2,60,437 voters in Warangal East constituency, 30,411 have done permanent shifting. In Vardhannapet constituency, the total number of voters is 2,76,272, out of which 18,307 voters have permanently shifted their votes. Similarly, in Narsampet constituency, the total number of voters is 2,40,244, out of which 7,857 voters have permanently shifted. (Maxim News)
