While municipal election activity has intensified statewide, Siricilla stands out for different reasons. From Wednesday, the nomination process began, yet national parties are still searching for viable candidates. Even the main opposition BRS faces a similar shortage in several wards.

Party surveys are underway, and leaders are prioritising only winnable candidates. As a result, political activity has increased across labour and community groups.

Reservation constraints and high election expenditure are discouraging aspirants. In contrast, a few wards have two or three contenders seeking party tickets from the three main parties.

Despite this, Congress, BRS, and BJP are keen to capture both municipal councils. Senior leaders from all parties have held multiple review meetings.
