Six more test positive for Covid-19 in Telangana; total rises to 39
Six more persons, three with a recent travel history to nations affected by the novel strain of coronavirus and three close contacts of Covid-19 positive patients, have tested positive on Tuesday.
With this, the total number of Covid-19 positive cases in Telangana State has risen to 39 since March 2 when the first positive case was reported in Hyderabad.
While four positive cases that were confirmed on Tuesday hail from Hyderabad, two persons were from Bhadradri Kothagudem.
Another 64-year-old woman, who tested positive is a resident of Manikonda in Hyderabad and is the family contact of a positive case.
A 57-year-male and another woman, who were primary contacts of one single positive patient from Bhadradri Kothagudem, have tested positive.
Both these cases are contacts and do not have any travel history of international travel in the last 14 days, health officials said.
The process for containment has started in the residential areas of Bhadradri Kothagudem district and GHMC areas of Rangareddy district.
The remaining three positive patients include a 49-year-old male from Kokapet, Rangareddy district with a travel history of return from London, a 39-year-old woman from Chandanagar, Rangareddy with a travel history from Germany and another 61-year-old woman resident from Begumpet with a travel history from Saudi Arabia have tested positive for the novel strain of coronavirus.
