Following the incident, parents of one of the injured students lodged a complaint with the police. Based on the complaint, police registered a case against the jeep driver. Officials confirmed that an investigation was taken up to examine the circumstances leading to the accident. They said further action would depend on the findings of the probe.

Parents, however, raised serious concerns about the condition of the road where the accident occurred. They alleged that the narrow road beside the canal has been causing accidents at regular intervals. According to them, the risk increases during peak hours when vehicles move in both directions. Therefore, they expressed regret that irrigation officials had failed to address the issue despite repeated representations.

In addition, they sought widening of the road to allow safer movement of vehicles. Meanwhile, residents of the area echoed similar concerns and urged authorities to act before another serious accident occurs.

Police said they are continuing the investigation. They also said they will share their findings with the concerned departments. The accident has once again brought attention to road safety issues in Luxettipet town, especially on roads used by schoolchildren every day.
