Skeletal Remains Found in Locked House in Nampally; Investigation Begins
Hyderabad, July 14 (Maxim News): In a chilling discovery, skeletal remains of a human body were found inside a locked and abandoned house near Nampally market area on Monday, prompting a full-scale investigation by the city police.
According to sources, the house had reportedly been unoccupied and locked for over seven years. Local residents alerted authorities after a foul smell began emanating from the premises. Upon receiving the information, the Habeebnagar police reached the scene and broke open the door, only to find skeletal remains lying inside.
At present, police are unable to confirm whether the remains belong to a man or a woman. A CLUES team was summoned to the location to collect forensic samples and assist in the investigation.
DCP of South-West Zone, Chandramohan, also visited the site and reviewed the situation with the investigation officers. Speaking to the media, officials confirmed that further forensic analysis will be carried out to determine the identity, cause of death, and the approximate time of death.
Authorities are also exploring if any missing person’s reports in the past match the timeline and location. It remains unclear whether the remains will be immediately sent for autopsy and forensic preservation or if further site analysis is needed before removal.
The Habeebnagar police have registered a case and are intensifying their probe, which includes questioning local residents and former tenants or owners associated with the property.
This grim discovery has left residents of the area shaken, raising concerns over neglected properties and the need for regular checks on long-abandoned buildings.
