Sleeper Bus RTA Inspections | Hyderabad, Oct 27: RTA (Road Transport Authority) officials intensified their inspection drive targeting AC sleeper buses across districts following a series of recent violations.
On Sunday, Ranga Reddy and Medchal districts witnessed large-scale checks conducted by RTA and DTTC teams, resulting in 32 cases being officially registered against various bus operators for non-compliance.

A fine of one lakh rupees was imposed during this round of enforcement. In the Ranga Reddy district alone, DTTC teams booked seven cases and collected ₹35,000 as compounding fees.
The inspections primarily revealed major lapses like the absence of mandatory fire extinguishers inside vehicles, deemed a critical safety violation by officials.
Additionally, the RTA South Zone reported 11 cases, recovering ₹31,000 in compounding fees. Here, officials found multiple breaches, including bus drivers operating vehicles without the required uniforms and lacking fire safety equipment.

Inspections in the East Zone led to three more cases and the collection of ₹3,000 in penalties, showing that violations were detected across different areas.
Widespread inspections in various locations across these districts saw a total of 11 additional cases being booked, with ₹31,000 recouped as compounding fees.
These checks underscored the seriousness with which authorities are addressing safety breaches, signaling stronger enforcement action against transport operators who ignore legal requirements.
