Software Engineer | Hyderabad, April 21 (Maxim News): A software engineer who allegedly lost his job due to ganja addiction was arrested after officials found cannabis plants growing at his house in Nacharam.
The Prohibition and Excise Department raided the house on Monday and seized 17 cannabis plants from the terrace. Officials said the plants could yield nearly 10 kilograms of ganja.
The accused was identified as Ch Shashidhar, a resident of East Gandhinagar in Nacharam.
According to officials, Shashidhar became addicted to ganja and spent most of his salary on the drug. Later, he reportedly quit his software job.

Officials said Shashidhar began cultivating ganja plants at home after he could no longer afford to buy the drug regularly.
During the raid, officers found some plants had already started flowering. Others had reportedly grown to nearly three metres in height.
Moreover, excise officials arrested the accused and later handed him over to the Ghatkesar Excise Station for further legal action.
Two BTech Students Held in Medipally
In another case, officials arrested two B Tech students in Medipally and seized 480 grams of ganja from their possession.
Authorities said they are increasing surveillance and special drives against narcotics use and illegal cultivation in Hyderabad and surrounding areas.
Furthermore, officials warned that strict action would continue against those involved in drug abuse, transport, sale, or cultivation of banned substances.
The latest arrests have once again highlighted growing concerns over ganja abuse among youth and working professionals in the city.
