Hyderabad, Oct. 8: The Southwest Monsoon has further withdrawn from parts of Telangana as the rainy season gradually comes to an end across the region.
The India Meteorological Department said the monsoon has retreated from remaining parts of Maharashtra, some areas of Goa, Karnataka and Telangana. It has also withdrawn from parts of Odisha, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.
The withdrawal line currently passes through Tandur, Vikarabad, Hyderabad, Jangaon and Bhupalpally in Telangana.
The IMD said conditions are favourable for further withdrawal from eastern India and parts of the northern peninsula during the next three to four days.

Rain Likely in Parts of Andhra Pradesh
Despite the monsoon withdrawal, some areas of Andhra Pradesh may receive rain over the next three days.
According to the Andhra Pradesh State Disaster Management Authority, isolated parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh and Yanam may receive light to moderate rain or thunderstorms on Thursday and Friday.
Thunderstorms and lightning are also possible at isolated places. Strong winds of 30 to 40 kmph may accompany the weather activity.
On Saturday, isolated areas may receive light to moderate rain or showers. Gusty winds reaching 30 to 40 kmph are also possible.
Similar conditions are expected over Rayalaseema on Thursday and Friday. Isolated areas may receive light to moderate rain or thunderstorms, accompanied by lightning and strong winds.
Rayalaseema may again receive isolated light to moderate rain or showers on Saturday. Strong winds of 30 to 40 kmph are also possible.
Meanwhile, a trough extending from eastern Uttar Pradesh towards Rayalaseema through parts of central India and Telangana has weakened.
Northeasterly and easterly winds are prevailing over Andhra Pradesh and Yanam in the lower troposphere. These conditions may support isolated rainfall over parts of Andhra Pradesh.
In Telangana, the withdrawal of the Southwest Monsoon is likely to bring predominantly dry weather. However, isolated rainfall cannot be ruled out during the transition period.
The IMD has advised residents to follow local weather updates, particularly during thunderstorms and periods of strong winds.
