Special Drive To Register Degree, PG Students As Voters
Hyderabad, Nov 24 (Maxim News): Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) will be conducting a special drive to register the names of the students in Degree and PG colleges as voters.
District Election Officer and Commissioner DS Lokesh Kumar said that everyone who completes 18 years of age by January 1, 2023 is eligible to register as a voter. He said that the details of the students who have not registered their names as voters till now will be collected class wise. He said that a circle supervisor has been appointed to collect the details of students in degree and PG colleges with the aim of ensuring that the name of every eligible person is in the voter list.
The supervisory officers will discuss with the principals of the colleges and ask the management and teachers to cooperate, not only from GHMC area but also from other areas. He said that voter registration can be applied at centers set up in colleges, NSS volunteers and coordinators are advised to be active in voter registration. Those whose names are already in the list can apply for change of address and correction of errors at the centers set up in the colleges. (Maxim News)
