Internet/Hyderabad, Aug 21 (Maxim News) There is currently a lot of excitement about what the Center will do regarding the Women’s Reservation and Delimitation Bill. Although there were initial expectations that the bill would be introduced in this monsoon session, the delimitation issue seemed to be shelved due to the controversial paper leak. However, there are currently expectations that the Center may hold a special session of Parliament for delimitation.
Yesterday, in the meeting of the Chief Ministers of the southern states, Amit Shah raised the issue of constituency redivision. The Tamil Nadu CM, who has been opposing delimitation since the beginning, started campaigning after this meeting as if he had softened. After the meeting, Vijay made key remarks. He said that the share of the states in the current parliamentary representation should be protected. He said that the Center should give a clear guarantee in this direction.
It seems that the DMK is also of the opinion that there is no need to oppose the Delimitation Bill if the share of the South does not decrease. It is known that the recent monsoon session of Parliament was held till August 13. After that, the House was supposed to be prorogued, but since no action has been taken in that direction so far, the suspense has increased as to what decision the Center will take. (Maxim News)
