Special Police Measures For Sankranti Returns Journey
Hyderabad, Jan 16 (Maxim News): Nalgonda district police have taken special precautions for the Sankranti return journey. A key decision has been taken under the leadership of district SP Sharat Chandra Pawar to avoid traffic congestion going to Hyderabad. It has been decided to divert vehicles as part of traffic control. Flyover construction work is underway on National Highway 65.
In this context, there is a possibility of traffic jams due to construction work at black spots in Chityala and Peddakaparthi. Due to this, the police have announced that vehicles will be diverted on the respective routes. SP Sharat Chandra Pawar revealed that these measures are being taken with the aim of ensuring a safe and smooth journey for passengers returning to Hyderabad from their hometowns.
Alternative ways:
- Guntur – Miryalaguda – Haliya – Chintapalli – Hyderabad via Mall.
- Hyderabad via Macherla – Nagarjunasagar – Peddaura – Chintapalli – Mall.
- Hyderabad via Nalgonda – Marriguda Bypass – Munugode – Narayanpur – Choutuppal (NH-65).
From Vijayawada..:
- Hyderabad via Kodad – Huzurnagar – Miryalaguda – Haliya – Chintapalli – Mall.
Arrangements have been made to divert vehicles from Chityala via Bhuvanagiri in case of traffic jams.
Meanwhile, people in Hyderabad have gone to their hometowns on the occasion of Sankranti festival. Due to this, traffic congestion has increased at toll plazas. There was heavy congestion at places like Panthangi Toll Plaza on the Hyderabad-Vijayawada National Highway. In just 5 days, more than 3 lakh vehicles have travelled on the highway. Out of which, about 2.04 lakh vehicles travelled from Hyderabad towards Vijayawada. More than 71 thousand vehicles crossed in a single day (Saturday). Although vehicles lined up for kilometers at Pantangi Toll Plaza, traffic flowed smoothly with the acceleration of FASTag scanning and the installation of additional counters. (Maxim News)
