Special Queue Line on G-Day For The First Time Won Laurels

Tirumala, Oct.4 (NSS): Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chief Engineer, Nageswara Rao said on Tuesday that TTD has operated special queue lines at three corners of four Mada streets providing darshan to nearly 15000 stranded pilgrims on Garuda Vahana Seva day for the first time on a trial-basis , which has won appreciation from devotees.

Addressing reporters at the Media center in Rambagicha Rest House-2 the TTD CE said a total of 3 lakh devotees had a hassle-free Garuda Seva darshan this year. “Usually the holding capacity of all galleries is 2lakhs and with the innovative idea mulled by our Executive Officer Sri AV Dharma Reddy, we laid these special lines and enabled darshan for more number of pilgrims than usual”, he added.

Adding further, the CE said, an additional 5,000 devotees were provided accommodation in the German sheds which were laid at seven places in Tirumala along with toilets and drinking water facilities.

Among others he said an additional parking for 2000 vehicles, additional 3 luggage counters at Srivari Seva sadan have also enabled ease for parking and accommodation facilities to the visiting pilgrims. A total of 295 lakh gallons of water has been utilised by devotees in the last 7 days at over 40 lakh gallons per day, he maintained.

He said 20 small electrical cutouts, eight LED screens on Mada streets have been erected and the total cost for Civil and Electrical works was nearly ₹6.50 crore. All cultural teams were housed at Dharmagiri Veda Vignana Peetham while the police were accommodated at Octopus Bhavan. The vehicle parking was arranged at Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan and Devlok premises.
